Having a razor-sharp display, quad-core processor and huge selection of apps won’t matter much if your tablet dies while you’re trying to post a Facebook update, send a critical email or are halfway through “The Avengers.” Fortunately, we found 10 tablets with enough juice to last a cross-country flight, an epic road trip or a regular work day. Each of these slates lasted more than 8 hours on our LAPTOP Battery Test, which involves continuous Web surfing over Wi-Fi on 40 percent brightness.
Apple iPad (4th Generation)
The 4th-generation iPad leads the pack in almost every respect. It boasts one of the best displays on the market, a robust tablet app ecosystem, powerful graphics and processing performance and -- perhaps most important for all-day users -- phenomenal battery life.
Packing a 42.5-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery, Apple's latest iPad lasted an unbelievable 12 hours and 22 minutes on the LAPTOP Battery Test, well over the 7 hour and 7 minute average. If you want a tablet that will last you an entire workday on a charge (and then some), the 4th-generation iPad can't be beat.
